Greetings from me, Sean McMillin, the guy behind this site. Thanks for visiting! I hope you find something here that can brighten your bass world, as that's really my goal with this site: make the online bass world a little better place to be, and hope that spills into the real musical world as well. The Web has of course been a tremendous new resource for everyone, and there are plenty of great sites out there for the bassist. I wanted to add to that with something a little different, and hopefully fill in a niche. In particular, the graphics in Desktop Bass are largely things that I have done for my own amusement for awhile, and I thought, hey, other bass players and enthusiasts might like to bring a little bass to their everyday computing lives as well. I do graphics work, and some of my work for Sadowsky Guitars is also featured. Additionally, I wanted to post some of the materials I've developed for teaching over the years in the hopes of helping other teachers and students. The staff paper and flash cards are the start, and I want to post some lessons and worksheets that I've developed when I can. We can never have too much musical education, and I really believe that everybody should think of themselves as a student and a teacher when it comes to music -- everyone has something to learn and something to offer. I've also got another idea or two for this site in the works, and when time allows I will be adding to it. So stay tuned! Well, as a favorite musician I play with is fond of saying, "But enough about me. What do you think of me?" You're welcome to drop me a line and let me know who you are and/or what you think. Again, thanks for visiting -- enjoy! And above all, play the bass... Other stuff: Visit Jet Brown, a singer-songwriter I recorded a CD with in early 2003, at www.jetbrown.com. Read an article I wrote for Global Bass, covering the 2001 Winter NAMM Show. |
